Day 2

Morning transfer to Arenal Volcano area. Drive the scenic road down to the Northern Lowlands via the highlands of Zarcero and its picturesque park and church and San Carlos.

It is the most active volcano in Costa Rica. Recognized as a volcano since the 19th century, it was known by foreign investigators as Volcan Costa Rica, Rio Frio, Canastos Volcano and Cerro de los Guatusos. Arenal is the youngest and most active of all the mountains in Costa Rica. Arenal rises 1710 meters above sea level and overlooks Lake Arenal; both are part of Arenal Volcano National Park. The country's most active volcano, Arenal's eruptions are strombolian in type, being frequent but moderate and can be viewed without danger as long as the viewers are behind the safety perimeter. This constant activity and minimal endangerment makes Arenal a popular tourist destination, especially at night, because the lava and incandescent rocks make a spectacular sight. Afternoon visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges of the Rain Forest. The tourist will be able to appreciate the natural beauties of the majestic environment, thanks to the imposing and huge hanging bridges with the beautiful trails that make an easier access to it and offer great security. The doors of our tropical paradise are already open for all nature lovers and adventurers. The Hanging Bridges wants to offer to all the visitors a contact with the natural surroundings in a responsible and sustainable way that is why it counts with all the permissions, evaluations and certifications required for the protection of the private reserve and all the living organisms that live in there.

Day 3

Morning hike the Silencio trail up to the lava flows of Arenal Volcano. Mirador El Silencio Reserve has 4 trails located in a 556‐acre property, with 247 acres of old growth forest, where a wide variety of animals in their natural habitat can be watched. The Forest’s varied vegetation include majestic trees such as Ceibo and the trumpet‐tree or Guarumo, where a wide‐range of birds nest. Located just opposite of the impressive Arenal Volcano, the Reserve is the best lava observation point, which together with a wide variety of local fauna, bird watching possibilities and trails make of this an unforgettable experience.

Afterwards ride your bike around lake Arenal to the village of Nuevo Arenal on rolling hills and spectacular views to the lake and surrounding mountains. The majestic Lake Arenal is Costa Rica’s largest lake. Surrounded by rolling hills of pastured and forested land, the imposing cone of Volcan Arenal dominates its eastern vista. Following the 1968 eruption, Lake Arenal was enlarged to 3 times its original size, an area of 85.5 km (33 sq. miles). Now its basin forms a hydroelectric project that produces 9% of Costa Rica's electricity. Lake Arenal is the key driver in a nationwide hydroelectric project that currently produces the majority of electricity for the entire country. Water depth generally varies between 100 and 200 feet (61 m). The community of "old" Arenal was submerged by the expanded lake Lunch en route and then continue to the North Pacific to arrive to Hacienda Guachipelin, the typical paradise of cowboys and adventure. Evening visit the Spa and mud baths of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano.

Day 4

Experience the beauty of diverse landscapes hiking through Primary and secondary forests and pasture land while you enjoy breath taking views of the complex of volcanic domes and lowlands to reach La Cangreja waterfall, another magic corner. La Cangreja Waterfall: A four and a half mile hike from Rincon de la Vieja’s Las Pailas entrance, these falls are found within the park’s borders. Dissolved copper salts give the waterfall a celestial blue color, a striking sight against the gray cliffs behind it. A small pool at its base is wonderful for cooling off after the hike.

After lunch visit the Chorreras falls, a magic place of combined clear and blue waters joined in a cascade. This beautiful double waterfall teams up with the Blanco River to create a beautiful blue pool at its base where many visitors enjoy taking a dip in the cool waters.
