Coasts & MountainsDay 1Prior Arrival to the International Airport I will meet you to take you to the Hotel. IMPORTANTBring a smaller bag where you can pack a maximum of 25 pounds per person for the boat transfer the following day. The rest of your luggage will be stored in a safe place where we will pick it up on december 22nd when we come from Tortuguero. Do not pack rain gear for this place because the hotel supplies ponchos for everyone. Day 206:00 am Pick up and transfer to Tortuguero Canals National Park on the North Caribbean. Afternoon visit to the Village of Tortuguero and walk along the beach to return to the Lodge. Overnight in Tortuguero. Day 3Morning tour to the Canals looking for wildlife. Return to the Lodge for Breakfast. 09:30 am Optional hike through the Rain Forest of Tortuguero. Lunch at the Lodge. After lunch time to relax and enjoy the swimming pool and gardens of the Lodge. Afternoon tour top a different Canal looking for more wildlife and to explore the lush forest. Day409:00 am Departure by boat to Matina and drive to Rio Danta in Guápiles for lunch. Transfer to Arenal Volcano and check in at Arenal Paraiso Hotel & Spa. Overnight in Arenal. Day 5Morning hike to the Lava Flow of 1992 at Arenal Volcano National Park, one of the 10 most active volcanoes in the World. Afternoon hike to La Fortuna Waterfall, a 210 feet tall cascade where you can swim after the excercise. Overnight in Arenal. Day 6Morning transfer to Monteverde Cloud Forest. This a beautiful drive around Lake Arenal and crossing the Contnental Divide from the Caribbean Slope to the Pacific Slope.Afternoon to relax by the swimming pool of the hotel. Overnight in Monteverde. Day 7After Breakfast enjoy the High Adrenaline of the Sky Trek while you swing from tree to tree. For those who want to skip this activity there is the option of doing the Sky Walk which is an amazing walk through the understory of the Forest and crossing 6 suspension Bridges to give you a different perspective of the Canopy of the forest. Afternoon visit the Monteverde Cloud forest Reserve. Overnight at El Establo Hotel. Day 8After breakfast we will depart to Manuel Antonio National Park area. On the way we will have an encounter with Jurassic Park so have your cameras and binocuars ready. Afternoon check in and then visit the Manuel Antonio National Park to explore the beautiful forest looking for monkeys and enjoying the 80°F warm waters of the Pacific Ocean. Overnight in Manuel Antonio. Day 9Day at leisure to enjoy Espadilla Beach and the beach of the Hotel. Sea Kayaks and snorkeling equipment are available at the hotel´s beach. Overnight in Manuel Antonio. Day 10Morning at leisure and afternoon transfer back to San José. Day 11Departure transfers to the Airport for your flight back home. What to bring?This is going to be a warm place with temperatures ranging between 75 ° F in San José, 90 ° F in Manuel Antonio, 75 ° F in Arenal and 85 ° F in Tortuguero, so bring shorts and T shirts, but just in case bring a light jacket for the nights in Arenal. Swimming suit is necessary, hiking shoes or good snickers and an extra pair of shoes, sandals, suntan lotion, insects repelent , flashlight, a rain coat (it is dry season but who knows what could happen), binoculors, camera and good vibrations to enjoy the beauty of this little peaceful country that we are happy to show you. Monteverde Cloud forest is located at a higher elevation (5000 feet above sea level) so you will need a sweater for the nights, long pants since the temperature can dropp to 55°F to 60°F. Remember there is a departure tax of $26.00 per person.
