Bocas del Toro, PanamáThis amazing corner at the northwest of Panama was “discovered” by Cristopher Columbus during his 4th trip to América. Bocas is just 2 horas south of Puerto Viejo de Limón. Day 1Transfer from Costa Rica to Bocas. Upon arrival to Isla Colón you will find the village of Bocas del Toro. Day 2Visit the Parque Nacional Marino Bastimentos. The tour starts on a boat with a visit to the various islands of the National Park. In Bahía los Delfines (Dolphins Bay) it is common to observe this charming mammals. Afterwards visit Cayo Coral. Its name is given by the numerous marine gardens of coral Rifs. Due to the crystal waters, From the elevated wooden paths it is possible to see a diverse number of schools of fish. Then you keep on going to Isla Popa, where there is a native indigenous population. The interaction with this culture is interesting and you can walk the trails to explore the medicinal plants, the workshops where handcarft is made or even fish. Lunch in Cayo Coral and then visit Isla Zapatillas where it is possible to practice snorkeling or rest and get a suntan laying at the white sand of the islands. Day 3Return to Costa Rica Optional stay for one more day to walk on Red Frog Beach, Isla Bastimentos, or visit Hospital point where you can learn the history of the operation of United Fruit Company or visit Bird Island looking for the numerous species of aqutic birds that inhabit the place.
